SMXChat Logo Design

My latest logo design project was for SMXChat a weekly online twitter chat which was created by Mark Salke and Ehsan Khodarahmi and is quite frankly one of the best chats on Twitter with an engaging and sharing community from across the globe, and one I'm proud to have created the logo for.

The website describes #SMXChat as "all about your business, social media, and your customers, formed by@eksays and @marksalke. Every business faces challenges as well as opportunities when it comes to social media; #SMXChat is here to bring together thought leaders to exchange knowledge and experience, share insights and learn."

One of the key ideas I aimed to get across was the sharing and exchange of knowledge, this is shown through 2 speech bubbles in the logo that represents conversation.  The sharing and interaction between all participants has been key to the success and growth of the weekly talk.  Below you can see the final logo design along with a few other colour options that were presented utilising various social media colour palettes.

Stockport Referee Society Website

The Stockport Referees' Society is one of the most active and popular associations in the country and their new website needed to reflect that.

The previous version of the website was very popular but suffered from a lack of updates and was looking a  bit old.

The brief behind the new website was for it to be a modern site which would act as an information hub for Stockport Referees' Association members and non members.  The new site contains the information you would expect like meeting dates and galleries but it also offers guides on fitness, rules and information on becoming a referee.

You can visit the site over at and if you are interested in becoming a referee or attending a meeting then the Stockport Referees' Association will offer you a warm welcome and meet on the second Thursday of each month at Stockport County FC.

Bliss Hairdressing Website

Bliss Hairdressing is one of Stockport, if not Manchester's leading hair salons and required a brand new website that reflected the salon.

This was a fantastic project to work on as the team at Bliss Hairdressing knew exactly what they required and gave fantastic creative direction.  Bliss Hairdressing, ( is a very modern and stylish salon based in Heaton Chapel, and close to the trendy districts of Heaton Chapel and Didsbury, the salon needed a fresh and clean looking website which also reflected the quality and reputation of the salon.

Previously Bliss Hairdressing had a static site that was very dark and hadn't been updated for many years and contained may out of date prices.  The first step was to reconnect Bliss Hairdressing to it's email accounts, within the first week there were a dozen enquiries via email which the salon was previously missing out on.

The brief for the website redesign was very clear and was one of the easiest, but biggest, I've worked on. We introduced a whole new lighter colour scheme and used the salons images to make it a very image led website.  The new site also features latest news from the salon as well as the Bliss Hairdressing stylists thoughts on upcoming trends, this means customers will keep coming back to the site to find out the latest news even when they're not looking to book an appointment.

The new site went live in September.
