With Instagram being the latest social platform to introduce an algorithm based feed will we see a rise in black hat social media where companies are trying to beat the algorithm instead of focusing on creating great content.
We’ve seen it in SEO and other areas where people will try and trick the algorithms for higher visibility, and you can guarantee some marketers both at agencies and inhouse, will be looking for ways to get seen on feeds. This inevitably leads to some bad marketing, where the thought of the customer is replaced with getting good stats to take back to senior management in reports.
With Facebook etc showing posts to an ever reducing organic audience what can marketers do to ensure their content gets seen without blowing a load of money of promoted posts or tweets?
